What is decluttering?

Decluttering is a process where you sort through your belongings and decide if the items are necessary or not, and where items belong.

Why do people declutter?

There are many reasons that people declutter and often ask for help in doing this. Some of the most common reasons are

  • Need more space : When storage spaces in your home have become 'full' over time.

  • Hard to tackle : The spaces that you keep putting off sorting out because it seems too daunting to do on your own.

  • Feeling embarressed : Have you ever been unwilling to have people over or dread the possibility of people dropping in?

  • Time contraints : Our lives just seem to get more and more busy, you may simply not have the time to declutter yourself

  • Moving home : moving to a smaller home often calls for a need to downsize

Why do I need help doing this?

It can be daunting to approach these tasks when we know that it will take time and energy to sort through our belongings. Having an impartial person such to support you through this process makes it a much easier and quicker process.

Are you going to make me throw lots of things out?

Not at all! I will not make you throw out your belongings. I will however challenge you to think about how you use the things you own and will make suggestions for the best place for them to be stored.

Do I need to do the work with you?

You do not. I will need to check in with you occasionally in order to discuss your belongings and the way that you use the room/s so that I can help to establish an organisational system that works for you.

Many of my clients choose to work alongside me and use it as an opportunity to learn about ways to organise their things and how to maintain it.  

Will you clean as well?

No, I will wipe down surfaces before putting items back on shelves, but I do not offer a cleaning service. As a home orgainiser, my focus is to create a better flow and order in your space so that you have better use of it.

What is your availabilty?

I am available for virtual support in the evenings as well as local work. On weekends and during school holiday breaks, I am available to come to your place to provide physical support. Just get in touch and we can arrange a time and date that works for you.

Do you take photos?

I like to. Taking before and after photos is a really good way to see the progress made. I will not share the photos without your permission.
